Hadoop Turns 5 Years Old

© Cesar RodasHadoop is turning 5 today. If you're still unaware of what is Hadoop, it's Yahoo's open-source software that gives Java programmers the ability to process plentiful amounts of data through techniques of distributed computing. The great thing about Hadoop technology is that it's free. It's also based on Google's software such as Google File System and Google MapReduce.
While free, the problem with Hadoop is its lack of technical support. Many programmers find it difficult to use Hadoop without any professional guidance from Yahoo. Java programmers are left to figure out the Hadoop system themselves. However, a new company has come out, Talend, which fills that gap by providing Hadoop support as part of its product range. As Hadoop technology continues to advance, Talend will surely be useful for several Japa developers.
